Capillary rise is the most important mechanism of water
penetration into building materials in liquid phase. The free capillary water
uptake experiment, used for the estimation of the capillary water absorption
coefficient, a crucial materials property, is widely used for the
characterization of building materials.
Let see the Water Absorption Coefficient calculation in LAB
test. This is almost similar to DIN 52617.
This test helps us to know the water absorption capacity of
mortar, blocks, tile, etc.
