Fire test to building material

 

As per EN 13501-1 following related material can be tested and certified accordingly:

1.  Construction products, excluding floorings and linear pipe thermal insulation products;

2.  Floorings;

3. Linear pipe thermal insulation products.

There are many standards which deal with this same subject and they are as follows:

     1.      EN 13501-1

     2.      NF P92 507

     3.      DIN 4102-1

     4.      BS 476 / 6 & 7

 

All these standards says to refer to these standards for testing the materials: ISO 1182, ISO 1716, EN 13823 and ISO 11925-2

 

Let us see which are the classification made as per standards:

1. Classification of Fire, behavior is classified as A1 class, A2 Class, B, C, D, E, and F Class

            A1 : Non combustible

            A2: Non combustible

            B: Really limited contribution to fire

            C: Limited contribution to fire

            D: Medium contribution to fire

            E: High contribution to fire

            F: Highly combustible.

2. Smoke is classified as s1, s2 and s3.

            s1: Emission of smoke absent or weak

            s2: Emission of smoke of average intensity

            s3: Emission of smoke of high intensity

3. Droplets is classified as d0, d1, and d2.

            d0: No dripping

            d1: Slow dripping

            d2: High dripping
